East Side Jews Director - Rabbi Carey Brown
Carey Brown is Associate Rabbi of Temple Sholom. She lives in East Van with her husband, Gregg, and two kids, ages 7 and 5. Carey is a native of Minneapolis, MN and spent six years as a rabbi in the Boston area before making the big move to Canada in 2011.

Sarah Freedman is the President of the East Side Jews board. She and her husband have 3 young children. In her spare time, she works as a pediatrician.
Programming Chair - Hartley Odwak
Elana lives in East Van with her husband Gary and two daughters, Ava and Nahla. As a passionate believer in the power of community in raising a family, she is happy to put her social skills to work as Recruitment Coordinator for ESJ.
